Tschugg, Switzerland – The Skywalk body weight support system has been successfully tested under clinical conditions at the Tschugg Rehabilitation Clinic. The results show that patients benefit from greater safety, improved balance training, and increased suitability for everyday use. The tests provided valuable insights for therapeutic use in neurological rehabilitation and confirmed the system's high practical value in everyday clinical practice.

The test phase focused on the question of how patients can be supported in walking safely and as naturally as possible and in various exercises—with minimal arm movement and maximum stability. The Skywalk was particularly impressive thanks to its safety harness, which enables effective balance and safety training and can be used specifically to combat fear of falling. Its flexible usability both indoors and outdoors was also highlighted as a positive feature. Overall, patient feedback was also very positive, particularly with regard to the subjective feeling of safety.

Therapeutic assessment from practice

Anne Sommer, head of the physiotherapy department at the Tschugg Rehabilitation Clinic, draws a clear conclusion from a therapeutic perspective:

"The Skywalk is a rehabilitation aid with a clear focus on walking itself – without the extensive use of the arms, as is the case with rollators, for example. Thanks to the excellent safety harness, effective balance training is possible, which is a major advantage, especially for patients who are afraid of falling. The system is very practical, can be used indoors and outdoors, and we have received consistently excellent feedback from our patients – especially with regard to safety."

An important step towards market launch

Autonomyo also considers the results of the test phase to be a significant milestone. Fabian Bischof, CEO of autonomyo, explains:

"The feedback from the Tschugg Rehabilitation Clinic is a key milestone for us. It confirms that the Skywalk meets the requirements of therapeutic practice and gives us the necessary confidence to launch it on the market in spring 2026."
